Exhibition: Premaco — Monterrey

As a preamble to Zona Maco there were a lot of art and design events in the city, hosted by Las Artes Monterrey. Here are some of the best pieces we saw this week, by Angelbert Metoyer in the exhibition: Clay + Coal, modern spirited essentialism. The artist used adapted materials from the exhibition site to create a series of drawings on translucent materials with self-made inks contrasting a spirited non-conceptual narrative with installations that express a conceptual one. Along with the installation, the elements open a relationship with the space between the artist, object, environment, and light.

Como preámbulo a Zona Maco, hubo varios eventos de arte y diseño en la ciudad, organizados por Las Artes Monterrey. Estas son algunas de las mejores piezas que vimos esta semana, de Angelbert Metoyer en la exposición: Clay + Coal, modern spirited essentialism. El artista usó materiales adaptados del sitio para crear una serie de dibujos en materiales translúcidos con tintas fabricadas por el artista, que contraponen una narrativa no conceptual con instalaciones conceptuales. Junto con la instalación, todos los elementos abren una relación con el espacio entre el artista, el objeto, el entorno y la luz.
